Due to the constant increases in the price of oil and aviation fuels, operators looking for a viable, cheap alternative are investigating the use of algae biofuels which meet strict jet fuel regulations.
Boeing has already tested algae fuels in its aircrafts. According to the company's Director of Environmental Strategy, Michael Hurd, the testing of algae as aviation fuel has exceeded their expectations, and using it does not require any additional alterations to their commercial planes. http://bit.ly/kGjeiZ
